The White River is one of the most beautiful cold clear water rivers in the United States. Below the Bull Shoals Dam the White River is one of the most famous float trout fishing streams in the world. There are more Rainbow Trout caught in the White River from the Bull Shoals Dam to Batesville Arkansas than anywhere else in the United States. Arkansas Game and Fish stock the world famous White River with hundreds of thousands of Rainbow Trout every year. 90 percent of the Rainbow trout that the Game and Fish stock are caught every year. This is why it is one of the most visited rivers for Trout fishing in the world. Rainbow Trout are the most common type of trout caught on the White River.The White River also has Brook, Cutthroat, and German Brown trout in its beautiful clear water. All though the Brook and Cutthroat trout are not real common to catch the German Browns are caught quit often. There has been a number of German Browns that went over 20 pounds caught in the last couple years. Most of which were caught and released back into the river which means they are still out there to be caught again. Fishing the White River below Bull Shoals Dam is great year round.
