Capt. Matt Bellinger has a love of the marine environment that began as a small kid growing up in the South. Summers were spent in the Low Country of South Carolina fishing and crabbing and exploring the tide waters. In Atlanta, Matt fished the many lakes, ponds and creeks that are found in that region. Fishing was the focal point for him to the extent that the name of his charter business, Bamboo Charters, comes from the fact that when asked "where is Matthew?" his Mom would reply "that he is down in the bamboo fishing!" The "bamboo" being a bamboo grove or patch that grew on the edge of his neighborhood and had a creek running through it. From baby bluegills to monster sharks and tarpon give him a fishing stick and just add water!
